Custom Love

About 2 weeks ago I received 5 incredibly awesome pins in the mail. And yesterday I finished the order. These pins were so cool on their own that I really didn't have to do too much to complete them however, the finished product is darn pretty cool. They (mother and daughter) wanted a different style for each piece which made it even more fun than normal! I just hope they like them once they receive them in the next few days!

On another note, I won't be blogging tomorrow because in an hour I'll be boarding a plane and heading to North Carolina to see my oldest friend get married!! She is so special to me and I'm so honored to be a part of her wedding. I've known her since I was 1 month old since she was born 1 month after me! Our moms went to middle school together and were sorority sisters together, as well as our dads worked together since I can remember. Needless to say, they are like family and I think of her like a sister! (We have another "family" wedding come Labor Day which I also can't wait to see.) However, she and I have seen each other through almost every stage of life. I can't wait to go through the next grown-up stage of life with her on Saturday.

DIY

I had been on the lookout for a small floor bathroom cabinet and 2 days I found it! I got it for only $19.99 which is unheard of. The only catch was that it was a dark brown color and our bathroom is white and green. For that price I figured I'd try to paint it and if it didn't take I wasn't out too much money. Well, it was the easiest shabby to chic project I've ever done and yet the hardest. How you ask? I didn't have to do any sanding at all (which is always the part that I dread) since it's not real wood :) BUT since it wasn't real wood I had to put 6 coats of paint on each piece! Literally 6 coats!! That takes a long time considering the coats have to somewhat dry before the second (or 4th) coat can go on. Atlas, I finished and it looks great! Now I had somewhere to put all that bathroom clutter. Here's the before and after...

Seafood Week

Last night I made the easiest dinner imaginable - however it tasted like it took more than 10 minutes. So I wanted to pass it along to my friends! It is a seafood pasta dish (but the seafood came from the frozen food section at Trader Joes.) OK so here goes if you're in the need for something tasty but super fast...

Trader Joes frozen seafood links (thawed)

onion

tomato (seeded)

3 garlic cloves

salt/pepper

whole wheat pasta

Make pasta like normal then dice the rest of the ingredients. Saute all ingredients for about 7-8 minutes. Toss together on plate. That's it, you're done!

Hello Monday

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Our weekend was spent trying to get this new loft changed into our home. It's getting close to being finished - just waiting on a few things to be delivered! Then I'll be able to post some pictures. Besides being productive we had an incredible Lobster and Clam dinner over at some friends place (thanks to the Chungs) and then had our first take-out expeirence since we moved to the take-out capital.
