The Finale

Well, it's finally here. It's official - we're moving out tomorrow morning. It's very hard for me to not be overly sentimental. However, I can say that I am very sad to be leaving North Carolina but am very excited to see what God has in store for Hubby and I in NYC. It's going to be a fun adventure!
North Carolina will always hold a very special place in my heart. In a way, I feel like I grew up here. I obviously became more independent in college but NC was where I learned how to live on my own and become a bit more responsible. I moved to Charlotte after graduating from Auburn not knowing anyone and it became the city where I met Hubby! There were multiple times when I tried to leave the wonderful young southern city but obviously God had different plans for me. I also met some of my greatest friends. When Hubby and I moved away to small town Chapel Hill, I was completely upset to leave the place that I grew to love but then after a few months living in this new town I too, grew to love it. I again met some of my greatest life-long friends and Hubby and I grew together in ways that never would have happened if we stayed in Charlotte. It again was an answer to prayer that I was unaware of at the time. We're now moving to NYC with some of our great friends we met here in this small town. (We also spent last night with them and had more fun than we though possible.)
So overall, we will miss North Carolina tremendously! NC - you have the best weather and seasons! It's one of the few places where you can live in one city and be 2 hours from the ocean as well as the gorgeous mountains. But of course, this is the first journey of our lives and it has to come to an end. However, the second journey is quickly approaching and its in the big city!! I can't wait to begin blogging from NYC - but you'll have to wait until July because the month of June Hubby and I are nomads traveling cross country. Our first stop - Nashville! See you back on Monday! Tomorrow we're moving and driving to the state of TN.

Goodbye NC - you'll be greatly missed!!!!!! Thank you for so many wonderfully fun memories!

He Put a Ring On It!

Well, Hubby and I took a very short 22 hr trek to Nashville to celebrate the engagement of his little sister! The soon-to-be new bro-in-law called a week ago telling us and saying he was planning for the whole family to come in town and surprise her. It was such a special and exciting time to be a part of! They both were on top of the world and of course wedding plans have already begun. Hubs and I are both super excited about who the new bro-in-law will be...one of our groomsmen!! We're so excited for you both! Congratulations!!
The happy new soon to be Mr and Mrs
The gorgeous ring!
Cheers!

Neverending Story

This weekend was very productive! Although, I feel like I've been talking about our move for months - its officially here. We have 4 days left before we are no longer NC residents. I spent my weekend packing and making jewelry while Hubby was away playing golf with his dad. I got a ton done and it feels so great. We will now be eating off of paper plates when we eat at home, which really won't be that much. My workspace looks like I wish it had the whole time. Funny how we get things looking the way they should when we move out. :) The desk is super clean with absolutely no clutter( and only 1/2 of the necklaces)...granted everything other supply/tool is now on the floor or in boxes so 90% of what I work with is not to be found. I'll miss this little sun-filled space (especially since odds are that I won't have any sort of space in NYC. ) Here's what my workspace looks like now (now that I'm not embarrassed to show people.) haha Also, did I mention that I finished wedding #3!
It's getting close to the end...

Gonna Miss Them!

Man am I going to miss my Chapel Hill girls!! Last night we got together for some wine, baked goods and chit chat. It was great as always! They even made some amazing cookies and pound cake slices. Did I mention that they put candles in the slices and sang Happy Birthday to me?! They're so sweet and I'm seriously going to miss them so much! We have more than a surface level relationship and we know each others hearts... which is nice since we're going to be living all over the country. We'll be able to pick up where we left off no matter how long it's been since we've seen each other.

On a different note, Hubby surprised me by sending me to get a mani and pedi today for my bday and then I another dinner surprise is coming tonight!!! I'll fill you in on what happens tomorrow! I can't wait to find out what he's planned!!

This is what I would like to do today with my little guy in the pic! Spencer is just so darn cute!

More More!

Have I mentioned that I love doing weddings?? It really is so much fun to see each person's personality come through in the designs she picks for her lovely maids. Yesterdays bride was vintage-y funky and today's bride is classically simple! I love it.

Weddings Galore!!!

This Monday feels completely different than last Monday. Last Monday Hubby and I were packing and loading the Uhaul with my parents to leave with whatever was left of our furniture (that we haven't sold on Craigslist) and head down to Florida and drop it off to my awesome Sis. Oh and did I mention that the rest of the week mom and I cleaned out closets in their house?! It was an intense job but very rewarding! It was a great week/weekend and now we're back to our mostly empty apartment for 8 more days. Within those 8 I am making jewelry for 4 weddings! That's right, 4 weddings! I absolutely love working with brides. It's so fun to play a small part in their big day. I just finished one wedding - I can't say who it was since the wedding hasn't happened yet - but it was great and she had such a great and unique style for her bridesmaids. Hopefully, after the wedding I'll have pics from the big day with the girls wearing them in full action! Here's a sneak peak...

One of my best online shopping experiences was at Piperlime. And this morning, I received an email from them that they're having a sale! So I wanted to pass this info along to all of you and join in the fun. Remember that they have free shipping!!

I will be back from all the travels on Monday and will return to normal posts...

Have a great weekend!

Whew and Whew

Well this was an eventful weekend! Hubby graduated from b school! My parents came in and so did his, which was wonderful. Yesterday, we half way moved out of our apartment and then drove down to FL to my parents house. Thankfully, my parents are allowing us to house all of our china, decorative platters, etc at their house for the next few years until we move from NYC and actually have cabinets and space to keep it. It's been crazy to think of all that really goes into a NYC downsizing move (when you're not coming straight from college.) More on that later...

So the weekend - it was jam packed with graduation activities and saying goodbye to some incredible friends! I can't believe that two years of b school has already come and gone. Sunday night after graduation was a joyous time to finally be done but also needless to say the tears were flowing when I said goodbye. However, I'm so thankful for the awesome lifelong friends that Hubs and I have made. It was looking bleak the 1st few months... haha Now we're leaving with more than we could have ever imagined!!! We have been extremely blessed these past couple of years!!! Here are some pics of the weekend...

This little boy apparently wanted to be like his daddy ;)

Romping Around

I have a busy day today so this is short and sweet. Last year, I lived in my navy romper and actually wore it out - so I've been in the market for a new one and the selection is so much better this year! I'm not sure if I can pull off the pant romper since I'm short but I'd like to try. Just someone tell me if I look ridiculous...

Trina Turk
Ella Moss (perfect for running around)

Almost the weekend!!

Put a Ring on it

I love that big bold rings have been a basic staple accessory this season! However, it's the only piece of jewelry that SMD doesn't make so I must look elsewhere. But don't worry, there's a plethora out there! Here are a few... which do you like?
