Spring Trends

This is a bit on the late side but I thought I'd do a quick rundown of the Spring fashion which will run through Fall. These are the main ones but there are those other ones that I'm choosing not to follow, ie mesh, crop tops, etc.  Let's keep it classy. Haha

Colors for Spring

I honestly can't believe that stores are getting in shipments of Spring arrivals, but they are and I guess I'll embrace it. (Even though we won't be seeing warm weather for at least 4 months.) However, I'm sure there will be a visit to see family down in Florida or even a tropical vacation within 4 months, both which I'll need something other than my puffy coat. So maybe I'll be able to find something in these new Spring colors!!! Although, some of them really don't do so well with my pale skin...so I'll pick and choose. But for everyone else get ready for some new color trends...

The one that everyone has already heard - Tangerine
Think 1970 appliances - some gold, almond and avocado
Then we have those layered neutrals - Oatmeal, Grays, and tans
Next we have those pastels - girly shades like blush pink/cotton candy, mint green, and robin's egg blue
And of course, we'll need to brighten it up with some raspberry, Cyan, or anything neon
And lastly, graphic blacks and pure whites.

Let's take one at a time - Tangerine! (Which is the one that does not look good on me but of course the most popular.)

Bla Bla Blazers!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm loving Summer and definitely can't believe that it's already the second week of August. However, I'm so excited about the new Fall fashions hitting the stores. I love everything about Zara this season but I'm especially excited about all those blazers. I wore mine last year so often that it is not wearable this season. Now I'm just going to have to try and pick which one I'm going to wear out this season. (Although, come September you'll be able to shop online. For those of you like me who always chicken out on buying in the store and then when you go back the item is inevitably gone.)

Summer Fashion

I haven't done a fashion post in a while and after shopping last week I think it's time. Check out some of these fun fashions we saw at Saks.

What do you think??

Shoeganza!

This week is going to be dedicated to Fashion. Most importantly, Spring fashion. Up here in NYC we still haven't been able to really bust out the spring dresses, tops, etc. But it will come! I am convinced it will come. So here are some of my Spring/Summer fashion craves of this year, in none other than shoes! (which can make or break the outfit, right?) :)

I wish I could buy all of them - but that might be a little extravagant.
1. J Crew
8. Urban Outfitters (I do own these and have lived in them)
9. Anthropologie (almost broke down and bought them on Saturday)

Blushing Nudes

To continue with Spring's trends, lets talk about color. There are lots of colors we can talk about but one important color story is the neutral/blush tone happenings. And basically that is the whole story. So grab yourself some nudes and maybe a bright orange outfit to go with those bell bottoms from yesterday!

Shopbop - collared shirt and orange pants
Anthropologie - tops
JCrew - peach cardigan
Spencer Morgan Designs - necklaces
Home Centric Etsy shop - orange pillow

70's Baby

When people asked the question, "If you could live in any time period, what would it be?" I most always answered with the 70's or 60's. Basically because I love the freedom in the fashion. So I am of course pretty excited that it is back in a serious way! Remember back in September when I posted that bell bottoms and flare pants are forcing their way back in? Well, they've pushed their way in and they're ready to be worn for Spring. So go grab some heels or super comfy thong sandals and throw on that long free-flowing maxi dress or some flare pants - and feel the love! I'll of course have to wait on that dress and sandals until mid May when it actually warms up here...

Peace man! XOXO

Year of the Sleeves

I have to confess before blogging that I was at small group last night during the majority of the Golden Globes so I'm only guessing on what I say. With that said, it looked to me (from the pictures and second half of the Globes) like sleeves are making a serious comeback! Everyone had sleeves or a one-shoulder dress. I love it! I hope this trend is here for a while because to be honest I'm kind of over the strapless, etc. Anyway, since I didn't watch fully I can't really comment on anything else that might have happened - so if something did let me know! Here are some pics of (hopefully) the new trend...

I hope you are all reading this from your couch and have this important holiday off!

Feeling like Fall

As my mom and I walked around the city today it definitely is feeling like Fall! High of 70 with a little wind. Glorious!!! I say this every year - but I LOVE Fall (especially the beginning!) I also love Fall clothing more than any other season. However, mom and I have been shopping for the past 3 days and so far we've come away with very very little. (I did get 2 candles today though!) I just can't find anything I''m dying to pay more than $50 for right now. So I resort to online shopping...

Here are some season favorites... what are yours?

The Flitty Flare

We're still in the 1970s. Here comes the bootcut flare bottoms! After the past 6 years of the skinny pant and jeggings we're moving back out. Don't throw out those skinnies though - they're still here (which is great since they're perfect for winter boots.) The flare is definitely not as wide as it was in the 70s so the bell-bottoms you wore for Halloween probably won't work. :) But be on the lookout since they are making their comeback.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Back in Time

I think we're heading back in the 1970s. I'm fine with this since I've always had somewhat of a fascination with the 60s-70s. However, we're only going back for the fashion! This season the clogs are back. That's right, CLOGS! Yes, I know that they have been here since this Spring but they are all the rage for Fall. It seems like anything goes as well. So here are a few of awesome ones...Go get your clog on! :)

Furry Friends

Well, it looks like fur and shear ling are now making their way back into our wardrobes. Not the fur like you're thinking but in a more subtle way. Like the lining of a jacket that actually shows, vests, boots, or bags, etc. Don't worry all you animal lovers - it doesn't have to be real fur to be cool. Faux is totally fine! Maybe you can go raid your Aunt or Grandma's closet and see if you can tailor the old fur coat into something a bit more wearable this season. Like this...

Gray Matters

The new "neutral" color for Fall is gray! It had its coming out last year but this year it is full-blown here and here to stay. Gray is everywhere you look. In my opinion this is awesome! I love gray and all the color combinations you can mix with gray. If you don't know, I'm a neutral/black wearing girl. I'm quite comfortable in blacks and love gray since I can wear a pop of color with it and still blend in just a bit. So here is lovely little gray storyboard for you all...
