Chalk Talk

Over the past weekend there were lots of projects happening. One was creating a huge chalkboard for the little guy. It turned out to be incredibly easy! Sis was going to buy one off of Etsy (and if you don't have time that's a great option) but then we decided that we could do it ourselves and not have to pay for the outrageous shipping cost due the size. There are many options in creating a chalkboard for your home but this is the one we choose...

Sis wanted the board to be almost the size of the wall so we picked up a 5x3 piece of plywood at Home Depot and some chalkboard paint. (Don't buy the spray paint kind) You can paint onto anything - even the wall itself. However, Sis wanted to frame the board for decorative reasons, which I think would look great! After you have your desired space then you just paint it on...paint 2 coats. We actually did both sides of the board - the other size we did a magnetic chalkboard. You can buy the magnetic paint at Michaels Craft Store. It goes on before the chalkboard paint and it actually a bit hard to paint since its so thick. However, its a really cool idea! Especially for when the little ones start to bring things home to hang up. :)

That's it! The little guy loved it! As soon as we finished he was "drawing"
