Home Centric

I'm getting to a bit of a late start this morning since I'm trying to figure out my new routine now that we're members of a gym! However, this post shouldn't disappoint since I'm going to share with you what I just discovered last night. As most of you know, I love Etsy and love finding awesome designers even more! Well, last night I fell upon a very talented pillow, curtain, etc designer - The Home Centric. Her pillows are beautiful and from the reviews I read, quite well made and quickly shipped (even though she's in India.) I'm ordering some right now and will let you know how it all turns out once I get them. Here are a few of my favorites...

Back To Earth - Throw Pillow Covers - 16x16 Inches Linen Pillow Cover with Jute Embroidery

Violet Velvet - Throw Pillow Covers - 16x16 Inches Velvet Pillow Cover with Floral Design

Fantasia - Throw Pillow Covers - 16x16 Inches Velvet Pillow Cover with Silver Mother Of Pearl

Believe me, there are tons more that I want!!

2 Years!

Today is Hubby and my 2nd anniversary and I couldn't be happier! I'm so thankful that I moved to Charlotte and met him after college...I believe that was the main reason for God leading us to Charlotte. He is such an amazing husband and man. He loves me at my worst and knows exactly how to handle me. (Not to mention how much fun we have.) In just 2 years we've been through a lot of changes and I can't wait for the other crazy changes that our life will face since I know we're facing them together!

Happy anniversary honey! I'm so proud to call you my Hubs!

Love Dare

Yesterday was spent running errands - let me just tell you that running errands in NYC is waaay different than anywhere else. Normally you would spend max 2 hours running around getting all the things you need for the week. Here however, it takes the entire day. I only had to get 4 things done but since I had to drop off my stuff at home after each errand it took forever. You see you can't go around lugging groceries, mirrors, and glass black after black and then on the subway. :) It's also hard to talk on the phone when you don't get service in the subway. HOWEVER, I realized yesterday that the subway is a great place to read my Love Dare iphone app. Love Dare is the book that came out a few years ago about how love your spouse for 30 days, etc. Well, it's great but some of the days aren't that much fun. haha This is my second time at the book and I'll probably have to read it again every year for a refresher! Anyway, you should all pick up a copy soon if you don't have an iphone...

Weekend Adventures

I hope everyone had as great of a weekend as we did! We were quite productive as well as had tons of fun while doing it. I'm going to do a picture recap instead of writing it out. It's just more fun that way. However, I will say that this move has by far been the easiest I have ever done (and I've moved 8 times in my life.) We have so many friends up here that it really doesn't seem like we moved! It's been such a blessing!

(Note: some of these pics were from my phone)
Friday afternoon we took a picnic lunch to central park - we ate, read, watched people and slept
Then we went back showered (although you couldn't tell by the time we walked out of our place since there is a heat wave up here) and went to the Yankees game! It was so much fun with a great win to finish on. Thank you, S&T!!
Saturday, we went for a loooong walk up to Hell's kitchen and went to the flea market where I purchased an awesome jewelry chest (I'll sand it and paint - another post) then went to Union Sq to the farmer's market!
There were booth after booth of brooches/pins!!! I'm going back this coming weekend now that I'm back to making jewelry!!
After church we went with some of our new friends to the Chelsea flea market and I found these lovelies! (I'm going to change out the smokey glass to clear glass) Then we went to SoHo and had brunch with our friends. Then finally later that afternoon met up with some other friends and hung out until we realized that it was a work night!!!! Yes, that's right - today is the first day back for Hubby after 2 years of pure freedom. Everything he's worked for starts today. We woke up early, made Hubs breakfast and sent him on his way! Good luck, babe!
Now I'm actually going to begin lugging all my jewelry supplies out of their random boxes...

Night Lite

After Hubs and I attended a UNC alum event last night we came back to our place and hung out on the rooftop. It is quite romantic with all the bright lights...I also have just always thought that the city itself is romantic. I hope I never take this for granted or get used to the view.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and weekend!!

Pretty great, huh?!

Starting in the the Past

Since I still haven't had time to sort through all our pictures from our California vacation (and the rest of the month) I'm going to go backwards and start out with some pics from our awesome weekend over 4th of July. We spent the weekend down in Florida at my parents beach place. It was so much fun and the first time that Hubs and I have been down to the beach with the little guy! He absolutely loves the water and digging in the sand. Bro-in-law and Hubs dug the deepest and largest 'pit' with a very cool connecting small hole for Spencer to throw the bocce ball through. There were many many other games that were played during the weekend which were equally as cute and entertaining! Little guy is getting so big and is all over the place. Not that our family wasn't awesomely fun to begin with but we've really stepped it up in the past 14 "Spencer" months. haha
Cute festive parents
Trying to update our pics from the foursome to the fivesome...
Fun pic and Spencer has to look at Hubs since he thinks he's hilarious!
Digging that hole
Now being covered
The men
Papa and his favorite little tike blowing bubbles int he pool
The guys playing some intense bocce
Just look at that gut!

Life Slow Down?

Well, I missed yet another day of blogging yesterday and in all honesty I actually forgot what day it was until yesterday evening. Our apartment is still a wreck and with minimal furniture BUT only 2 boxes left to unpack!! We have some of our great friends staying with us (on aerobeds since we have no furniture) while they are looking for a place to live. In the meantime, we've made multiple trips to Brooklyn to visit the all wonderful Ikea as well as other more fun jaunts throughout the city. Last night was a true NY experience! We went to a movie in Bryant Park. It was so much fun! We had a group of about 10 people on 3 blankets, yummy take-out food, wine and $1 ice cream cones! Then with a great old-timey movie from the 1930's. Granted everything takes more time up here than in a normal sized city. The movie starts around 9PM, however one person has to get off work around 5 to set the blankets up for when the park opens and the herd rushes in to get the perfect spot. So someone has to be by themselves until other people get off work around 6-7. It is such a great experience and anyone that lives in the city that hasn't done this definitely should!

Hubs got his bankerman haircut - getting ready for work! :)

Transition

Hello long lost friends! It's been a month since I last blogged and it will be probably another few days before a "real' post can be written (not to mention respond to emails -SORRY!) I don't even know where to start with all that has happened the past month. We've been traveling far and wide - which has been great but I have not had any time to actually sit down and write anything out or even think for myself. I'm sitting in a Starbucks right now because this is the only place I can get Internet. We got up to NYC yesterday to move in but now our movers have pushed our move-in date back until Thursday. So we're in our new apartment with the same suitcases that we've been living out of for a month and an Aerobed that we bought last night in order to sleep. It's been and adventure and as my dad would say, "These things only makes you stronger." haha So I'll try to get pictures off my camera this weekend after I've unpacked some boxes and have a real post by Monday! Hope yall's month of June has been wonderful and sunny!
