Goodbye 2009

Sorry for the spotty posts lately but I am actually down in Florida visiting my family! I'm so excited about going to the beach with the fam and bringing in big ole 2010! I think I've had my fair share of huge, get excited new year's eve parties which is why I'm super excited about doing nothing!

This has been a big and eventful year for us... Hubby and I moved from our crazy house into an apartment, my sister had their first baby, SMD really took off, dad started his own company and the list goes on. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for everyone! Hubs and I will hopefully be moving to a new city with a new job in May after he graduates from UNC Business school!

What about you? What are you doing this new years? And what are you looking forward to in 2010???

Billy the Kid

So I have to brag about my hubby...he has become very well-dressed! He was always well-dressed when it came to work attire but pretty standard with weekend wear. Well folks, that has changed! A few years ago, he found a store in our Charlotte mall named, Billy Reid. (Yes, he found the store.) It's incredibly preppy with a funky flair. Well, we moved away from Charlotte and Billy Reid but then Nashville (where his family lives) got one last year. We visited over Christmas and found tons of awesome items...Including women's riding boots, fancy leather men's belts and of course the clothing. Unfortunately, the stores are all in the South so all your Northern folks will have to shop on-line. (I'll warn you though, the website doesn't have all the awesome finds that the store has and you can't see how well made the clothes are either) Still make sure to check it out. And if you're in the South then check the list of stores and go visit!! If nothing else then watch Gossip Girl since all the guys wear B.R.

And of course, my hubby wearing BR. He does it the best, doesn't he...

Is it Over??

I can't believe that Christmas has already come and gone!! How can that be? It's definitely been a whirlwind with all the wonderful traveling, family and friends! Hubby and I left for Nashville to be with his side of the family a little over a week ago and had a fabulous time!! We saw the Messiah and The Nutcracker, which was a 1st for the hubs. I couldn't believe it, especially since I have only skipped one year in my entire life of seeing the Nutcracker. I absolutely love it! Maybe when we have kids we'll have girls and can take them and carry on the tradition. But watch us have 4 manly boys and then I will totally embrace football and falling out of trees with broken arms. I absolutely love boys being boys!!

So back to Christmas Eve night-it was so fun with his side of the family! The 4 little kids (all under the age of 6) came over in their Christmas pjs and ran around with my hubby while all the grown-ups had a lovely beef tenderloin dinner. After, there was a little candy bowl which the kids were allowed to pick out one piece and save for the next day, however, some had more trouble picking their piece out than others...

Studying the choices...

This is the photo shoot I tried to have with the 4 kids which only lasted so long, as you can see...

Just the beginning of the shoot...just wait

Still sitting still and loving each other

About 15 seconds after the first pic was taken and already over it.

23 seconds after the start and they're totally over it...

And then back in Florida, my sister's 8 month old- modeling the same pjs on Christmas night as cute Nashville clan above.

I can't wait until next Christmas when we can remember the the reason all over again! I hope everyone had a wonderfully fun time!!!

More MP Obsessions

So on top of Mary Poppin's bottomless tapestry bag I would like to add her wonderfully classic color combination of navy and red to my current obsessions. The colors look so crisp and classic together, you basically just can't go wrong! Many of the designers are incorporating these classic colors, but here are just a few...

Mary Poppins Obsession

I'm back from NYC and am ready to blog again! WE had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect. (We missed the snow storm) We shopped and shopped, then ate and ate some more and then somehow found time to go and see Mary Poppins! It was so great and I would suggest it to anyone. While I was watching MP, I found myself becoming inspired by the costumes and realizing that I had some interesting color combinations I wanted to use as well as her amazing upholstery bottomless bag! (Many times I feel like my current bag is bottomless when I'm searching for my ringing cell phone.) However, I would love to have MP's bag and probably wouldn't get frustrated while searching for my phone solely because the bag would be so cool. So I of course go home and search for similar MP bags and here is what I found...

This is my favorite print of Elliot Mann's Bag Collection, priced at $275. All of the fabric is sourced from Asia, Nepal, and Peru. Each has a very cool history of either coming from a Monk's robe, couch, or curtains.
To get even better, the handles are adjustable!! They're so magical that I might even be able to pull a lamp from the bag if I'm so lucky...
I also found a bag from Gucci's tapestry collection from last Fall on ebay...
Thank you, Mary Poppins!

Busy = Slow

Well, the next couple of days I will be taking a couple days off from the blogging world. Like I mentioned before, the hubby and I are taking a trip to NYC for our Christmas present which means no computer! However, I'll be back towards the end of the week but I will then be in Nashville. So yes, that means that I am a very busy girl today since I am packing for NYC, Nashville and Florida along with all of our Christmas presents and the jewelry. So please forgive me the not so interesting post, as well as taking a few days off. Here I come you wonderful shopping and lovely Broadway! I am excited to see you again! I hope everyone has an amazing few days this week!!!

It's a Wrap

I've been thinking about how and when to wrap all the Christmas presents (or do I now have to say "Holiday presents" to be PC.) See, this year we're flying to both families which means I have to go and buy wrapping paper, etc once we get to each destination and then wrap our pretty gifts. I have to admit that I love matching up the corners all nice and folding under the paper to make perfectly straight lines BUT I am not good at bows!!! Not at all! My mom and her best friend are amazing at perfecting these beautiful bows. I have tried numerous times to conquered the bows but haven't gotten there yet. However, these Christmas presents were totally conquered and so creative!

Plaid Baby

One of my new obsessions has been plaid!! Granted I used to think of plaid as only something Ellie May Clampett, of the Beverly Hillbillies wore, catholic school girl uniforms and of course my amazing plaid puffy sleeves and lace collar dress that I wore when I was little. Well, the fashion has improved my dears. Check out all of the fashionable plaid-wearing people and styles there...

Trunk Show Results

I'm still trying to get over this nasty sickness but I still made it to the trunk show last week which was wonderful! There was a good turn out and the amazing hostess had a table full of yummy treats and wine. What's not to love about a night full of food, wine, girl talk and jewelry??

New York State of Mind

After watching the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lighting and my DVR of Gossip Girl last night it's gotten me in a New York state of mind. So I decided to share some fun NYC pics since I'm short on time and actually have a TON to do today. Since I've been sick in bed the past few days I'm way behind on all the things I needed to get done before my show tonight! I can't wait to share pics of the show with you tomorrow! Enjoy NYC for the day...

This will be short and sweet since I'm actually laying in bed not feeling so well. It hit me yesterday on our drive back from Florida and unfortunately decided to stay through the night. So I thought I'd share a few fun and interesting stocking stuffer/little gift ideas for all ages...
