Well, I have blogger's block today so therefore here are some photos I came across on Elle Decor that I love! One day I'll have a bathroom that I can actually decorate...although I can't complain about what we have now. It might be on the smaller side but it has some cool tiles and features.

That's what I've been lately. But to make it up here is a yummy apple cake recipe to make it better! Its oh so very delicious - and comes from a very dear family friend. I believe I first had some of this cake around 20 years ago. Thanks Mrs. Becky! (If I left something out let me know) I hope yall enjoy the apple butterscotch deliciousness.
Pre-warning: watch out for burns while taking the cake out! OUCH!
Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in bowl
Mix together oil, eggs, and sugar in another bowl
In another bowl, have diced apples
In a large bowl mix together all ingredients alternating flour mixture with sugar mixture and apples. Then add the pecan and 1/2 package of butterscotch. Pour into a greased 13x9 dish and sprinkle the remaining butterscotch. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.Ingredients:
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
2.5 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1 tsp cinnamon
3 cups yellow delicious apples (diced)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 package butterscotch morsels

Over the past weekend there were lots of projects happening. One was creating a huge chalkboard for the little guy. It turned out to be incredibly easy! Sis was going to buy one off of Etsy (and if you don't have time that's a great option) but then we decided that we could do it ourselves and not have to pay for the outrageous shipping cost due the size. There are many options in creating a chalkboard for your home but this is the one we choose...
Sis wanted the board to be almost the size of the wall so we picked up a 5x3 piece of plywood at Home Depot and some chalkboard paint. (Don't buy the spray paint kind) You can paint onto anything - even the wall itself. However, Sis wanted to frame the board for decorative reasons, which I think would look great! After you have your desired space then you just paint it on...paint 2 coats. We actually did both sides of the board - the other size we did a magnetic chalkboard. You can buy the magnetic paint at Michaels Craft Store. It goes on before the chalkboard paint and it actually a bit hard to paint since its so thick. However, its a really cool idea! Especially for when the little ones start to bring things home to hang up. :)
That's it! The little guy loved it! As soon as we finished he was "drawing"

My weekend that is. It started on Thursday and ended yesterday morning. Being with my mom and sister while the guys were hunting was fabulous! We shopped, hit up some antique stores, fabric stores, took pics in the pumpkin patch and went to the Gator game (although it was a sad ending to Miss St.) All in all, I'd have to say it was a pretty great weekend! (I did miss my Hubby though.)
Sis and Bro-in-law are doing some decorative improvements on their house which is why we were fabric/antique shopping. (Always one of my favorites whether redecorating or not.) So tomorrow's post will be on some of the cool projects we did. However, all I have today are pics from the pumpkin patch. It was quite different this year from last year with the little guy. We didn't have to hold him up or carry him since he was running around doing his own independent thing.
I thought I would start by reminding you what last year was like...
(propped up by pumpkins)
And now this year
I loved these little pumpkins (they were the perfect size)
He tried to pick up about half of the pumpkin patch
And tried to sit on the other half...
But of course sometimes its just easier to plop on the ground and lean

I'm off to have a girls weekend (well, plus the little man) down in Florida this weekend while the Hubs goes off with the Spencer men to south Dakota for a hunting trip. (Hello, run-on sentence) I can't tell you how excited I am to get back to FL and hang out with mom and the sis! On another exciting note - I have finished a bunch of new necklaces. Here is a sneak peak

Yesterday was seriously a perfect October Fall day! Hubs had the day off (Columbus Day) and so we decided that we should take a trip outside the city and see some of the new state we live in. New York is beautiful. And honestly, I had no clue. We drove up to Warwick, NY to an Apple orchard and winery and spent the day. But not before driving through Sleepy Hollow. Spooooky. So we picked apples (I have never done that before but can't wait to do it again.) Walked the orchard. Had some of the winery's wine. Had some apple cider. Had a picnic. Listened the the two man band. Saw one of the actors from 30 Rock. And finally came home. It was truly a perfect October day and only 1.5 hours away from the city!

that you can have a whole weekend surrounded by great friends and somehow you come away only having pictures of non-humans? Somehow I managed to do just that this weekend. Hubs and I met up with some friends Saturday up in the West Village to hang out and also watch the Auburn and Florida games. (War Eagle! and seriously Florida?) Then on Sunday we had brunch with a new couple of friends after church and then met up with some other friends down by our place at the park and then even had dinner with friends after community group (we saw Seth Green - just think Austin Powers.) Yet with all that hanging out, I came away with pictures of flowers and food from the Union Square Farmers Market. (If you're ever up in NYC and like that sort of thing you should definitely make time for it - its huge with tons of great Farmer's fresh produce) So because I have nothing else -here are pics from the Farmer's Market.
